Sandwell College’s Duke of Edinburgh Award Manager David Hughes has been presented with a long service award by Michelin Chef Raymond Blanc in recognition of his 25 years’ dedication.
David, who is also Student Liaison Coordinator, was invited as a special guest to a Gold Award Presentation at St James’ Palace, in the presence of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
He was at the ceremony with three young people he worked with through Barnardo’s, and was shocked to be asked to come forward to receive an award himself.
