Do you already have some experience of playing music or singing to a good standard, and are considering studying music at a higher level? The nature of this Level 2 Diploma for Music Practitioners demands total commitment and high levels of energy from you, but if you are passionate about music and enjoy performing, this could be the course for you!
You’ll need four GCSEs at Grade 3/D or above, including English, or you’ll need to have successfully completed the Level 1 Diploma or equivalent.
Experience is also taken into account.
Equipment will be provided, but you may wish to invest in your own equipment in the future, so funding is available for families on low income.
You will learn practical music skills from a wide variety of different types of contemporary music.
You will have the chance to work with professionals from the music industry and perform in our purpose-built theatre and other local venues.

Students have opportunities to see professional music performances, go behind the scenes and visit industry specialists. You also have opportunities to engage with community and local authority organisations and professional musicians.
This Level 2 Diploma for Music Practitioners is assessed through a mixture of coursework, practical work and examination.
Learning methods include practical workshops, music performances, private study, tutorials, visits and class work.
You can move on to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Music Industry (Performance), or into the industry.
