This course is suitable for people intending to become first aiders at work, enabling them to practise first aid to the required standard, and deal safely and effectively with some of the injuries or illnesses which occur in the workplace.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
This one-day course runs from 9.00am till 5.00pm at Sandwell College’s Central Campus, or off site. Course content covers Priorities of First Aid, Unconsciousness and Recovery Position, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Control of Bleeding, Treatment of Shock, Seizures, Choking, Minor Injuries at Work, Reporting Accidents and First Aid Kits. The cost of this course includes a first aid manual, training pack, and certificate which is valid for three years. Courses are available for groups of up to 12 people at a reduced rate. You will be required to wear comfortable clothing and footwear for this course, as practical work will be carried out.
There will be continuous assessments to ensure candidates have gained the relevant knowledge, skills and understanding for each element of the course.
