T Level Construction learners from Sandwell College were given a real-life site experience when they toured a new build development with industry specialists Lovell.
Thanks to Community Engagement Manager Earl Patrick and the team at Lovell, the students had a fantastic opportunity to explore The Junction in Oldbury – a brand new residential development featuring 234 homes and apartments with 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms.
Learners were given a Health and Safety induction and shown the different stages of the build.
They were then given the chance to view the redevelopment and modernisation of residential properties in action.
This was a case of home from home for Construction Lecturer Craig Neal, who worked on the initial build!
Craig said: “23 years ago I started my career in construction. One of my first plastering jobs was in these flats. Now I have the pleasure of taking my own group of Sandwell College Construction T Level learners for a tour around the regeneration of this area. I would like to thank Earl Patrick and the whole team at Lovell for such an amazing day. You truly have inspired these learners.”
