Automotive team with certificates

Sandwell College Automotive Team members have been rewarded with recognition from The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

Every member of the team was presented with a well-deserved award and certificate by representatives of the professional body for people in automotive, to mark their qualifications, experience and time served within the Automotive Industry.

Head of department Nick Evans said: “This is a fantastic achievement for my team and a proud moment for me to celebrate working with such talented and skilled people. Along with the IMI Memberships we have Certificated Automotive Engineers, Automotive Assessors and Advanced Automotive Engineers. They will also get the benefits of IMI CPD and with their Level 3 Electric Vehicle can also access the benefits of Techsafe professional register.”

IMI TechSafe is the latest professional recognition issued by the IMI, identifying professionalism and safe working practice in the field of electric vehicles (EV) and other safety-critical vehicle systems such as Autonomous or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Automotive lecturers are now running a Level 3 Electric Vehicle course giving people the specialist skills needed to oversee maintenance on electric and hybrid vehicles, thanks to backing from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).
