This week has been an incredibly exciting one for the Sandwell Family of Colleges as we celebrated our first Festival of Learning! The festival took place from Monday 21st October, to Thursday 24th October.

The Festival of Learning celebrates and showcases all aspects of college life across the three colleges, with this year’s theme being Lifelong Learning. The week has demonstrated how the colleges value personal and professional development for students, staff and our partners. This festival is the first of its kind at the college and we can’t wait to watch it grow even further year on year.

Just a handful of the events that took place this week are highlighted below:

  • Coffee, Cuppa and Pamper which was raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK
  • Alumni Zion Smith who discussed their experience of studying Level 3 Digital & Creative Media at Sandwell College
  • Black History Month Art Exhibitions showcasing our students work
  • Sandwell Sustainable Swap Shop VIP Grand Opening
  • Adults Health & Social Care Alumni Q&A – Where are they now

There has been a huge fundraising effort gone on during the week for various charities, which truly demonstrates the college’s commitment to giving back to the community. Thanks to all the students and staff who have helped organise these.

Current Music and Performing Arts students have been performing throughout the week, highlighting how the Festival of Learning isn’t only about learning but also celebrating talent and creativity within our colleges.
