This T Level course in Legal Services is for school leavers who want to learn the core knowledge and skills needed for entry to a range of legal occupations.

You should have 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English.

Core component (Year 1)

Topics include:
• The business environment
• Careers within the legal professions
• Professionalism and ethics/equality, diversity and inclusion
• Security and risk
• Professional services
• Fundamentals of law
• Project/change management and administration

Occupational specialism (Year 2)

Topics include:
• The legal services sector

Industrial placement
• 315 hours of industrial placement
– Taster sessions delivered by employers
– Hands-on industry experience at a Law Centre

Activities are linked to employers, such as site visits. You will also benefit from a work readiness programme to develop your essential skills.

Controlled assessments

Apprenticeship options may include Probate Technician and Conveyancing Technician.

Degree options may include Law, Criminology with Law, Policing and Criminal Justice, Crime and Investigation.

Career progression routes could include: Solicitor, Law Firm Administrator, Crown Prosecution Service roles, CILEX Lawyer, Legal Analyst, Paralegal, Legal Services Director, Case Manager, Court Administrative Staff, Barrister, Police Station Representative, Prison or Probation Service roles.
