How much does the course cost?

The total fee for this course (including registration and certification) is £1,500.

You must have gained at least a Level 5 CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership or equivalent qualification (e.g., HND/FdA/BA/BSc in Management). HOWEVER, we can consider your level of managerial experience in lieu of formal qualifications.

It is essential that applicants have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to drive business activities in a senior management and leadership role, this will be established via an interview.

Using a variety of high-quality self-study materials, delivered via an online ‘Virtual Learning Environment’, you will study four units:

Strategic Leadership
Leading and Developing People to Optimise Performance
Developing Organisational Strategy
Applied Research for Strategic Leaders

To support your self-study and assessment preparation, you will have several personal face-to-face ‘one-hour’ tutorials with a dedicated tutor. These tutorials are delivered over Zoom/Teams online platforms according to learner preference. Your tutor will also be available via email to discuss course materials and give support and assistance with assignments.

Whilst on this Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice course, you will be given FREE professional membership of the CMI, which includes access to a huge range of CMI products and services to support you throughout the qualification and later as you progress in your career.

When does the course start and end?

Following a successful selection interview, you can start your course the following week.

As this is a distance learning course, there is flexibility built in to suit the pace required by the learner. It is recommended that learners spend six weeks on each unit, including completion of the unit assignment, hence, we propose a 24-week study programme, and you will be provided with a suggested weekly timetable.

We do, however, allow learners up to 48 weeks for completion, in recognition of ‘mitigating circumstances’ and the need to resubmit assignments (learners are allowed up to three attempts at each assignment).

Each unit is assessed by one written assignment of approximately 3,500-4,500 words.

What progression opportunities are there?

On successful completion of this Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice course, you may ‘subject to senior management experience’ progress on to a CMI Level 8 Strategic Direction and Leadership course (equivalent to a Doctorate in Management), or alternatively a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership. You may also be eligible to apply for Chartered Membership of the CMI (CMgr MCMI).
