This Learning Pathways course is aimed at adults with learning difficulties or disabilities. The programmes offer additional support and encouragement to develop your skills in employment, independent living and ICT.

You’ll need to complete initial assessments to understand your appropriate learning level, from Entry Level 1 to Entry Level 3. If successful, you’ll be placed on the suitable curriculum tailored to your needs.

Depending on your own study programme, you will develop skills in employment, ICT, Maths and English. You will have individual learning targets set to help you gain new skills and develop your independence and confidence.

You will have opportunities to get involved in sports, go on educational trips and visits, hear from guest speakers, and take part in organised activities delivered by nationally recognised bodies. You will also have the chance to participate in charity fundraising and community volunteer work to support your personal and social development.

You will be allocated a work placement officer to enable you to work within the community and gain work experience.

You will complete assessments individually and create a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course. You will be able to monitor your progress through ProMonitor. This can be accessed at home or in college.

Our part-time programme is based on developing vocational or work-related skills; these allow learners to develop sound skills that are transferable to other areas. There are options to take functional skills and vocational access courses.

Many of our learners who leave the programme progress to vocational development provisions within the local authority and/or other training providers. We also have learners moving into employment from our courses.

If you require further information about this programme, or you wish to apply for a place, please contact Elaine Groves at [email protected] or call Elaine directly on 0121 667 5050.
