Sandwell College Art alumna Amelia Fox is starting the year off right with a new promotion to Events Officer at the University of Wolverhampton.
Amelia, who has a degree in Fine Art and a Masters in Arts and Project Management, has also recently had her work published in a journal as part of a project with Multistory. The Printing Room provides a platform for local emerging artists to develop their writing practice with editorial support from Multistory and an opportunity to be published in print.
Amelia says: “I achieved triple Distinction * in Art and Design at Sandwell College and had so much fun discovering art materials I had never worked with before. My lecturers were inspiring and knowledgeable. I will always be grateful for the 2 years I studied this course. During this time I also worked on the Big Sleuth project around Sandwell and Birmingham – my first big art project!”

Working full time in events means all Amelia’s spare time goes into running her small business. She continues to work with a range of mediums but mainly watercolour and acrylic. She loves to paint anything and everything, but in the past few years she has focused on flowers and landscapes.
She adds: “Art is my true passion and calling in life. My dream is to one day work as a full-time artist or to have a little art café in a little village. I host workshops a few times throughout the year across the Black Country and Birmingham area, which is something I never thought I would be able to do. It’s something I want to do more of in 2025.”
