AS and A2 Geography students from Central Sixth had a field day when they visited the Cranedale Centre in North Yorkshire!
The 29 students were at the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds for three days to complete their fieldwork for the upcoming A Level exams. They studied a variety of topics including:
- Recording and predicting the weather
- Changes in vegetation and soil along moorland slopes
- Changes in river variables travelling downstream
- Coastal landforms
- Coastal erosion and flood management strategies.
Lecturer Azeem Mohammed said: “It’s a real pleasure to see characters grow and develop in a new and challenging environment and I’m sure the students will remember the experience for a long time to come, as well as motivate them to improve their efforts even further for the A Level Geography exam series this summer.”
