This one-year course is designed for adults wishing to pursue a career in engineering, the course will lead to employment. It is a good starting point and will help you gain engineering skills that you will need for the Industry.

You will be taught by a team of experts and highly experienced staff in the sector.

Cost of the course:

FREE for anyone aged over 19 who does NOT yet have a full Level 3 qualification (equivalent to an advanced technical certificate or diploma or A-Levels) or higher and who lives in a WMCA postcode area.

You’ll need a good level of English and Maths and be fully committed to completing the course. We will provide you with Boots and overalls and equipment.

You’ll study a range of units that will give you the skills to work in Engineering such as electronics, hydraulics, turning, milling and health and safety. You’ll also be using advanced equipment and gaining skills that will help develop you into a modern and advanced engineer.

Duration of the course:

33 weeks.

Apart from the external examinations and online tests, all other units are assessed by observation of work and producing finished work

You can apply for an apprenticeship or secure employment in the Engineering sector.

We will often support you through interview and offer additional training through our career’s hub, such as CV writing, presentation skills and communication skills.
