This Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies VRQ is an assessment-based qualification for school leavers and adults who wish to pursue a career in beauty therapy. Once qualified, you will be able to start work in a junior role in a beauty salon.
GCSE English and Maths at Grade 3 are an advantage.
As part of this Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies VRQ, you will complete units which will include the following:
A minimum of 30 hours of work experience is compulsory for all 16 to 18-year-olds as part of the main programme. Adult learners also have the opportunity to participate in work experience but it is not mandatory.
There are many opportunities to participate in trips to places such as Harry Potter World, Drayton Manor, and Blackpool Hair and Beauty competitions.
Practical elements of the Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies VRQ course will be assessed in our state-of-the-art salons on the fifth floor of the college.
Practically you will be assessed based on individual performance throughout the course to a level of competency which consists of formative and summative assessments.
Theory knowledge is assessed via multiple choice online exams and/or assignments and work packs. All exams are marked externally by the awarding body, and your final grade will be a Pass.
On successful completion of this Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies VRQ qualification, you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Beauty.
You could also progress to a Level 2 Hairdressing or Nails course or upskill by studying one of our specialised short courses.
You could also gain employment in beauty salons as a therapist or become self-employed and set up your own mobile beauty business.
