This one-year Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is aimed at learners in placements or working in support roles within primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges.
You’ll need to be at least 16 and have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 3/D or above.
You’ll also need to be on a practical placement in a learning environment (school or college) for the duration of the course, as you’ll need to demonstrate competence in both skills and knowledge.
The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people's development, supporting children and young people's positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships. There are 11 mandatory units in this qualification.
This Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is assessed by your Lecturer and Assessor.
The Level 2 Certificate enables progression to the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or into the workforce.
