This BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care course will give you a good understanding of the core elements of working in the health and social care sector and prepare you for either employment or advancement to a Level 3 qualification.
You’ll need GCSE Maths and English at Grade 3 or Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1. A criminal records check is needed for you to attend work placements for all Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
This BTEC Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification is widely recognised by employers. Some of the units you will study include safeguarding, communication, and care values. You will also complete a block placement of 1-2 weeks in a health and social care setting which we will help you to arrange.

We also visit settings with learners to give them a first-hand experience of life working in health and social care. We take learners to The Care Show at Birmingham NEC every year as well as numerous university events.
This Level 2 BTEC First Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care is assessed solely by coursework.
Once you've successfully completed the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care qualification, you can advance to a Level 3 qualification or go into employment.
