This BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification will provide school leavers with an excellent and advanced level of knowledge in Health and Social Care. The course is designed to incorporate 200 hours of placement across two years, so is an excellent route into employment.
You’ll need five GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including Maths, English and Science.
Year 1: You will complete the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care.
Year 2: You will complete the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care.
You will study units in the areas of anatomy, psychology, sociology and practice. Upon completion of the two-year qualification you could gain sufficient points to enter Higher Education.
We are dedicated to enriching your experience here at Sandwell College with a range of opportunities. We have strong links with local employers including hospitals and local authorities, who frequently visit the college to provide learners with a unique insight into careers in the sector. We also visit settings with learners to give them a first-hand experience of life working in health and social care. We take learners to The Care Show at Birmingham NEC every year as well as numerous university events.
This BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care course is assessed mainly through coursework, plus two externally assessed controlled assessments (one in each year).
This BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 qualification can lead to a vast range of careers, and you can advance to employment or university.
