This one-year Level 1 Vehicle Body and Paint Refinishing course is ideal for school leavers who wish to study and gain practical experience before moving on to a Level 2 Automotive course. It is a good foundation programme if you want to develop a career in the automotive industry. The course allows you to build up your basic skills in vehicle body repair.

You’ll need passion and enthusiasm to work on vehicles. You’ll need to have GCSE Maths, English and a Science at Grade 3/D or above, or Entry Level 3 Vehicle Body and Paint Refinishing.

This is a full-time course (16 hours per week). You’ll have the best opportunity to experience a wide range of skills associated with the vehicle repair industry, including Body Repair, Vehicle Welding, Customising, Paint Refinishing, and Body Repair techniques.

You’ll go on visits to London, Blackpool, Coventry Motor Museum, RAF Cosford, Dovedale, the Malvern Hills, and get involved in loads of activities like go-karting, mountain biking, golfing, table tennis and self-defence.

We use a range of assessment methods, mainly practical observations of work you do in our workshop. Other assessment will be oral questioning and written answers and online examinations.

You can progress to Level 2 after you have successfully completed this course.
