This CIEH qualification is suitable for anyone who has to carry out any manual handling activities at work. It aims to provide essential information about manual handling hazards and their control.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
The course is delivered in two parts over two half days, between 9.00am and 2.00pm. You will be introduced to hazards of manual handling, the risks involved and the controls that are available to help prevent injury. The course will also teach you techniques to lift, carry, push, and pull objects safely within your capability, in order to reduce the number of work-related injuries associated with manual handling. Part 1 is for people who wish to gain the CIEH Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling. Part 2 covers practical manual handling techniques. To gain the full Level 2 award you need to complete the training session and assessments for both parts.
There will be a multiple choice paper with 30 questions plus a practical assessment.
