This Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is a one-year course aimed at learners in placements or working in support roles within primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges. Classes will run Mondays 9-12 and 12.30-2.30PM.
You need to be at least 16 years old. Learners aged 16-18 should have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 3/D or above. You will also need to be working or on a practical placement in a learning environment (school or college) for the duration of the course, as you will need to demonstrate competence in both skills and knowledge.
The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people's development, supporting children and young people's positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships. There are 11 mandatory units in this qualification.
This Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification is assessed by your Lecturer and Assessor.
The Level 2 Certificate enables progression to the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or into the workforce.
