The Skills Accelerator project is a core part of the Skills for Jobs white paper, the government’s
blueprint for reshaping the technical skills of the local labour market and the wider economy.
It’s important for our provision to respond to employer needs and labour market demand.
The Skills Accelerator objectives are therefore to:
– Strengthen relationships and partnerships with employers
– Give education providers a clearer indication of the skills needed in their area and transform curriculum development to meet the changing skills needs of employers
– Work collaboratively with other providers towards key strategic priorities
Employers will play a pivotal role in this to help us shape a skilled workforce for the benefit of the local and wider economies.
