If you’re feeling nervous or still a bit unsure, just have a look at what our adult learners achieve and how they’ve changed their lives:
Patricia Hunt studied for her Award in Education and Training at Sandwell College. Her course allowed her to develop the skills for a new career, make new friends and became the highlight of her week!
Daniel Bains studied Counselling Skills. His course enabled him to further his career in a helping role by developing the core skills and self-awareness to work on empowering clients. He says: “I have found working part-time in a related job and studying part-time important for me as I can keep sharpening the skills learnt on the course.”
Kay Choudri worked with Magnum photographer Mark Power on the Black Country Stories project as a Sandwell College Higher Education student. He did a Fashion Photography degree at Falmouth University before moving on to a Masters at University of the Arts London. Now a well-established name in fashion photography, Kay has previously photographed at both London and Paris Fashion Weeks, as well as having been published multiple times in the highly prestigious, industry gold-standard magazine, Vogue Italia.
Emma Venables was crowned one of the UK’s very best hairdressing students, after winning the Britain’s Best competition, run by the National Hairdressers’ Federation. Emma won the Glamorous Night on the Town category. The NHF president said: “For Emma to win in her category was an amazing performance and she should be very proud of what she achieved.”
