An apprentice from Sandwell College will soon find out if she has been named as Apprentice of the Year at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards.
Aleksandra Zurowska has been nominated for the prestigious prize following her placement as a business administration apprentice at the college, where she consistently went above and beyond duties and was quickly recognised as an asset across all departments.
Having started as a student at Sandwell College, Aleksandra’s journey will continue as she has now been offered a full-time position, progressing from student to apprentice to staff member in just two years.
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards will take place on Friday 15th November and will honour outstanding talent from across the region including Business Person of the Year and Community Champion. Aleksandra is a finalist in the category alongside eight other budding young executives.
Sanjeev Gill, head of engagement at Sandwell College, said: “Aleksandra has become my go-to person during her apprenticeship. Her attitude towards new tasks, her flexibility to achieve her goals and her event management skills have made her an invaluable member of the team.
“Throughout the last 12 months, Aleksandra has grown in confidence and due to her excellent results and work ethic she has become sought after by nearly every department. We’re very proud she has been nominated and wish her lots of luck for the awards evening – we’ll all be rooting for her!”
