Celebrating Bashir – Highly Commended in the Lord Lieutenant’s Young Active Citizens Award 2025.
We’re incredibly proud of Bashir, a learner at Sandwell College, who has been recognised in this year’s prestigious West Midlands Lieutenancy Young Active Citizens 2025 Awards.
His commendation is a powerful reflection of his resilience, determination and commitment to building a better future – for himself and those around him.
Bashir joined us through our ESOL programme with limited English and quickly became known for his dedication and positive attitude. He volunteered with the British Red Cross to build his confidence and communication skills, and successfully progressed onto our Automotive course. Bashir is now thriving in his current studies and gaining hands-on experience through part time work, Bashir continues to lead by example. He is a role model within our College community, inspiring others through his perseverance and drive to succeed.
The official presentation will take place this summer and we look forward to celebrating Bashir again.
