Three lucky teenagers were rewarded for their efforts by Sandwell College after taking part in a careers advice event organised by Connexions.
Marcus Facey-Dell, Katie Wilkes and Lauren O’Neill, all took part in the Connexions New Year New Start Careers event to make positive decisions about their futures.
As well as getting advice on training and careers, they entered a prize draw and picked up an iPad which they were each presented with by the Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Barbara Price, and the college Principal, Graham Pennington.Marcus is currently at Wood Green Academy and wants to represent the country at the 2020 Para-Olympics. He wants to enrol on a sports-related course at Sandwell College.

Katie has enrolled with Nova on a study programme and hopes to progress onto an art course at college in September.
Lauren is on a study programme at Nacro working to improve her Maths and English and will later gain vocational experience in an occupation of her choice.
Sandwell College principal Graham Pennington said: “Congratulations to all our winners. We are delighted to sponsor this event and help these young people on their path towards a successful future career, whether that is on a vocational course such as sports or art and design, A Levels or an apprenticeship.”
