Congratulations to Sandwell College Apprentice of the Month, Kailum Woodfield, who has been commended for his enthusiasm, quality of work, and ability.
Kailum is currently completing the Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Level 2 apprenticeship, working for Doocey Group.
This award will see Kailum put forward for Apprentice of the Year at Sandwell College, with the winner announced at the end of 2023.
Kirstie Stuart, Head of HR & Support Services said: “Kailum has been a fantastic example of an apprentice, exactly what we hoped to find. He completes his college work accurately and on time, he works hard onsite on the roads, he is keen and genuinely wants to learn new things. Kailum is using the apprenticeship to help him progress personally with his driving lessons and tests. We only hear good positive things about Kailum”
Lisa Edwards, Head of Apprenticeships at Sandwell College, said: “Kailum has also supported with attending school events to do career talks and encourage other youngsters into the utilities/highways industry. Kailum was also a fantastic ambassador during the Open Day – speaking with confidence and enthusiasm to the parents and other visitors on the day”
Dean Rodwell, Kailum’s assessor said: “Kailum is very conscientious and has been on top of his work for the whole of the Highways Maintenance course so far. As you have seen for yourself, when taking photos of him on the job, he is well-liked by his work colleagues and quickly became seen as a member of the team and is utilised by the group for his newfound skills. Whilst at college, Kailum is eager to produce his work as soon as possible and has the drive to regularly check with me that he has covered everything to the required standard and has no outstanding work to do. Kailum is a fine young man, who I’m sure will go on to do great things for his employer (The Doocey Group) and he is a standard bearer for what a Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Apprentice should look like.”
Congratulations to Kailum!
