Drum roll for Music student Hakim McKenzie, who has been highly praised for his individual role in a major recording project!
Sandwell Arts and Music vocal tutor Clair Rogoff wrote Every Day Anthem for a Thousand Voices, which featured 1,000 voices of the children and young people of Sandwell. Much of the recording was done in whole school assemblies and with primary school choirs.
Clair said the recording was “truly enhanced by the input of Hakim”. She added: “I was so pleased with the professionalism demonstrated by Hakim in providing additional percussion, his beatbox dramatically changed the recording as a whole. He is a very talented percussionist and I sincerely wish him every success in his future endeavours!”
