Sandwell College fashion learners recently had the opportunity to visit Birmingham City University for an inspiring day of workshops. The Fashion TEX Workshop was a brilliant opportunity for our students to dive into the world of fashion, textiles, communication, and business courses, while experiencing a taste of university life at Birmingham City University (BCU).
Our learners gained invaluable insights into creative and professional pathways within the fashion industry, exploring everything from design to business. The workshops were hands-on, offering an inspiring blend of practical skills and academic guidance. The energy and creativity from the BCU Fashion and Textile teams were truly inspiring, helping our students visualize their potential futures in higher education.
This experience has opened up new doors of opportunity for our learners, showing them the exciting possibilities in fashion and textiles. It was an eye-opening experience that not only sparked their passion for the industry but also helped them understand the professional routes they could take after their time at Sandwell College.
Michelle King, Head of Creative Industries at Sandwell College, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Birmingham City University for providing such a fantastic opportunity for our students. The workshops allowed our learners to explore their creativity while gaining a real insight into the pathways available to them in the fashion and textiles sectors. It’s inspiring to see them excited about their futures and the possibilities that higher education offers.”
