A Sandwell College ladies’ team is jumping through hoops after being crowned national 3v3 basketball champions.
The small squad took the Association of Colleges title at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, winning every game on their way to the trophy.
The trio’s triumph – in just their first full year as a team – follows on from last year’s championship win by the Sandwell men’s team.
In a closely fought game against Newcastle Under Lyme College, the Sandwell students came out on top to secure the title.
Sandwell College sports coordinator, Matt Hammett, said: “The girls showed not only good basketball nous but also great togetherness to win the tournament convincingly and bring more silverware back to the college – a fantastic achievement.”
