Multi-award winning rapper Lady Leshurr took time out from her busy schedule to lead a Rap a College workshop and work with performing arts students.
The artist who hails from Solihull and has been making music since the age of six, was joined by the founder of Gospel Focus, Elaynor Mckool-George, and comedian Rem Conway for an entertainment industry event. Following live performances in the college theatre, students got the chance to quiz the artists during a 30 minute Question And Answer session.
Lady Leshurr is known for her work with Orbital, providing vocals for the title track of their 2012 album Wonky.
She won first place in the Best Female category of the Official Mixtape Awards 2011, later launching her own record label, Gutter Strut Recordings, in partnership with her manager.
Lady Leshurr has also guested on tracks by Tinie Tempah and Bashy, and shared the bill at the Tate’s Hyperlink festival in London with grime artist George the Poet. With fast-paced lyrics, Leshurr soon got the Sandwell students’ vocals in harmony.
