Hundreds of future students got career inspiration – from Animal Care to Travel & Aviation – at Sandwell College’s latest activity-packed open days!
A Formula 1 Ferrari simulator was on show for potential automotive students to drive, with smart robot cars for hands-on engineering experience of Arduino programming, electronics assembling and robotics.
The construction team helped visitors fit their own mortice locks in minutes to professional standards, while health and social care enthusiasts got to use real medical kit and test out their surgical skills on a giant Operation game!
Performing arts students held open dress rehearsals for their forthcoming Christmas panto Treasure Island. A professional photographer ran workshops with visual arts students, while the hair, beauty & media make-up team offered high-end nail art and hair colouring treatments in their salons free of charge to visitors.
Mindfulness and stress relief were promoted by the college’s counselling course lecturers with stretchy noodles and colouring activities.
Visitors could also produce their own fresh fruit drinks on the Smoothie Bike and take their own photos to share on social media with the Magic Selfie Mirror.
The next open day to apply for 2019 courses is Saturday 26 January.
