Sandwell College is delighted to be The Albion Foundation‘s Principal Partner.
The College has been working together closely with the Foundation for a number of years, and we were Headline Sponsor of the charity’s Disability Department in 2020.
We have a number of Sport programmes we run, in successful collaboration with Albion’s official charity, aimed at helping young people in the local community succeed and gain the skills and qualifications they need to begin their dream career.
The male and female Football and Education programmes are tailored to allow young people to play and train at an elite level whilst also gaining a qualification which can propel them into careers in coaching, physiotherapy and teaching.
The Foundation also works closely with students from the College that have a learning difficulty or disability, to offer the same prospects as everyone else but with specific and tailored guidance based around their needs.
Jonathan Ward, Head of Partnerships and Events at the Foundation, said: “We’re extremely grateful for Sandwell College from both a financial aspect and also for what they’ve done for the programmes and the community. I’m really excited about where this relationship with the College can go. We’ve been in partnership for a number of years and we keep going from strength to strength. Over the last 12 months there has been a number of barriers with how we deliver our programmes, but Sandwell College have just been tremendous in supporting the Foundation.”
Head of Sport at Sandwell College, Scott Thomas, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to work within the community and move forwards with our football foundation programmes. This was just the next natural progression, your core values align with ours and it’s great to partner up and push on. We just want to continue to work with The Albion Foundation and long may that continue.”
