A Level students and college staff on results day

Staff and students at the Sandwell College family of colleges across the West Midlands have been celebrating record A Level, T Level and BTEC success, ahead of what promises to be another buzzing enrolment season.

Students at Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form in West Bromwich have achieved exceptional results, building on the university-style sixth form’s strong track record. Students achieved a 99% pass rate in all A Level subjects and BTEC diplomas – well above the national average – with many students getting the top grades. No less than 28 different subjects and qualifications saw a 100% pass rate.

Cadbury Sixth Form College is also celebrating with an increase in the pass rate for the fourth year running, reflecting the hard work of both staff and students, who have embraced the ethos of the Sandwell family tradition of success. Alongside a high number of university acceptances, the results have enabled students to secure a broad range of opportunities including further education, apprenticeships and work placements.

Excellent results were secured for the second cohort of students studying T Level courses at Sandwell and Cadbury. Results for BTEC students have seen a surge this year too, providing a solid foundation for the future of our two brand-new STEM centres.

Sandwell College Group Principal and Chief Executive, Graham Pennington, said: “We’ve had another exceptional year across the Sandwell family of colleges: Sandwell College, Cadbury Sixth Form College and Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form College  – reflecting the dedication and resilience of our students, and the outstanding support provided by our dedicated staff.

“We have also achieved outstanding results from our students studying BTECs and other vocational qualifications. While we’ve seen a record number of applications this year, we still have availability for young people who haven’t yet applied. Enrolment begins on Thursday August 22nd, and we welcome those eager to take the next step in their education.

“I also want to reassure any students concerned about their GCSE results. Rest assured, your place at the college is secure. Whatever your results, we’re here to guide you through your next steps. There is no need for concern – simply come in and enrol. We’re here to support you.

“We will have an option for you across the broad range of 100+ courses our Colleges are able to offer – with every subject from Health and Social Care, Construction and Hairdressing to Digital Design, Law, Psychology and many more. Our teachers are experts in giving advice and guidance to make sure your choice after school is the right one for you.

“We offer every single one of our students free bus travel throughout the year, whatever their circumstances, and there is also extra help available for anyone eligible for financial support. So please do come and talk to us.”

Enrolment across all three colleges starts on Thursday 22nd August at  Sandwell College, Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form and Cadbury Sixth Form College. Be part of our future success!
