On Tuesday 26th January, in collaboration with our fellow Black Country Colleges (Dudley College, Halesowen College, Walsall College and City of Wolverhampton College) we launched the Skills Accelerator workforce initiative.
Skills Accelerator encourages employers to sign up their staff for free digital/IT and management and new technologies-based training, paving the way for them to access higher level training. The initiative has been developed in response to priorities outlined in the government’s Skills for Jobs white paper for reshaping the technical skills of the local labour market and wider economy.
Between now and March, Sandwell College alongside the other Black Country Colleges will deliver 15 short courses in areas such as: cybersecurity, website design, 3D printing and business improvement techniques.
Companies are able to book any member of staff aged 19+ onto one of our free courses in Digital Marketing for Business, Website Design and Development and Cyber Security for Business. As part of the project, a prospectus has been produced which can be downloaded here.
If you are interested in finding out more about any of courses, please email [email protected]. Please note, the offer is available until the end of March 2022.
Anne Scrimshaw, Sandwell College Skills Accelerator Project Lead says:
We are really excited to welcome businesses into the Skills Accelerator Hub at the Fab Lab, either physically or virtually, for unique and bespoke training.
No other FE college has a Fab Lab. The Fab Lab is a maker space with 3D printers, and other advanced, and traditional manufacturing. Our Award-winning staff are looking forward to demonstrating new and emerging technologies, like VR and AR, which can transform the way businesses work, create, and sell.
If you are looking to bridge that Skills Gap, and compete with your competitors in the modern world, you need the Skills Accelerator.
