International Women’s Day at Sandwell College showcased the best of our empowering female community.
We celebrated the day with thought-provoking talks by inspirational women from both inside and outside the organisation: Anti Violence Campaigner Alison Cope, Artist/Engineer and Fab Lab Manager Anne Scrimshaw, Film Director and Scriptwriter Francine Quaicoe, and survivor of bullying Balle.
We marked Women in Construction Week with short film screenings from site carpentry apprentice Sophie and her Persimmon Homes mentor Lauren.
Support groups were on hand for students and fun activities including badge-making and Happy International Women’s Day postcards were provided.
Hair and beauty students demonstrated their creative talents in competition and provided visitors with pampering treatments at open evening.
