Kelsey Arrowsmith has been rewarded for her outstanding college performance with a £2,000 university bursary.

The sports student was selected to receive the funding after making an extremely deserving application, and was presented with her cheque by Principal Graham Pennington and head of sport studies, Liam McGrath.

Now reading for a University of Birmingham accredited Sports Therapy degree, Kelsey also gained the Higher Sports Leader Award for her work with disabled children, and has volunteered at City and Sandwell Hospital, shadowing a qualified physiotherapist and working with stroke and trauma patients.

Kelsey said: “I am grateful to the college for giving me this experience, which has given me a clear focus for my future career path. As the first from my family to pursue a university education, I am extremely motivated to be successful in both my academic studies and future career, to repay the support, encouragement and belief my family and friends have in me.”
