Art students have been creating some amazing work after getting some feel-good motivation from Wellbeing Wednesdays.
Lecturer Rupinder Sandhu sets her learners a task every week. One of the latest weekly tasks was to select a word to focus on this year to become a better version of themselves.
The learners shared what they wanted to achieve and improve on, whether that was motivation, work balance or being happier.
Rupinder says: “For some learners they have had a sense of relief to just write their thoughts and share. It has brought a great positive vibe within the class. They are sharing motivational quotes and showing such kindness to one another and communicating. It’s been great to witness.”
Rupinder has also invested in a video tripod to record her practical live tutorials for online teaching sessions. She says: “I have found new ways to adapt to remote learning. I have definitely enjoyed getting creative again with the learners. Students are creating some amazing work and from their feedback they are enjoying the lesson delivery, so that makes me a very happy lecturer!”
Not content with that, Rupinder has created an Instagram page @sandwellart to promote the learners’ creations, and she has planned external art workshops from Courtauld Art Institute in London, The British Art Show 9 and a Pre-Raphaelite event.
