The National Careers Service provides free, professional and personalised advice on getting a new job, changing careers, training, education and the labour market; support which is available to anyone aged 13 and over and living in England. Individuals can access this support using a multitude of channels including over the telephone, via video call, webchat, and through social media.

Think Sandwell Programmes

The Think Sandwell team at Sandwell Council are currently supporting people looking for work in several different ways:

Black Country Impact supports 16 to 29 year-olds and enables them to identify the training and support they need to find work.

Our aim is to develop customers’ skills, build their self-confidence and help them to get a job or apprenticeship.

Talent Match Programmes

Each young adult who commits to the project is able to access ‘safe places’ within the community where they are allocated a mentor. The mentor provides intensive solution-focused, transformational support to help the young adult identify and overcome their barriers to moving forward (cease their offending behaviour), with the ultimate aim of moving into sustainable meaningful employment. Mentors are based in community/voluntary organisations in deprivation ‘Hot Spots’.
