The experience you gain studying Public Services with us will equip you to progress to an emergency services, military forces or legal career, working at the top of your field, both in the UK and overseas. You could graduate in Policing or Criminology like some of our former students. If your big ambition is to pursue your career in one of the Uniformed Public Services – such as the Police Service, Fire Service, Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army, Royal Air Force, Prison and Probation Service, or Border Force, we can help you get there. Working in any aspect of Public Services will offer you a challenge and adventure that you simply can’t find in any other job. Every day presents a new challenge but the work you will do within this sector is incredibly rewarding. - Learn how to read a map and compass and partake in a map reading expedition
- Experience lessons with local employers including YMCA and Army Reserves
- Overnight residential and outdoor activities: rock climbing, kayaking, gorge walking and more
- Visit Shrewsbury Prison: take the journey of a prisoner and see the cells and hanging room
- Meet guest speakers from the Police, Army and the Fire Service and take part in work experience placements
- Opportunity to achieve an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
- Work closely with NCS: volunteering, community fundraising and first aid
